Where are you based?

We are based on Bloomfield Avenue in East Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Opening Hours

We are open Tuesday through to Saturday, 10am until 4pm. We will advertise any holiday closures on our website and social media pages. 

How do we get to Folklore Yarns?

We have an 'Hello' section on our Main Menu with full details on how to get to us. We have the What3Words, bus routes etc and if you are visiting Belfast by Cruise Ship.

What types of yarn do you stock?

We specialise in natural, locally sourced fibres including pure wool, three different ranges of Donegal Tweed, and other UK Small Mill and traditional yarns. Our collection celebrates the rich textile heritage of Ireland and the British Isles. We also stock some handpicked international brands who meet our ethos.

Are your yarns ethically sourced?

Yes - we work closely with local producers to ensure our yarns are ethically and sustainably sourced. 

Do you sell yarn by weight or by skein?

Most of our yarns are sold by skein or ball, with weights clearly listed on each product page. If you need a specific quantity, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

Our Donegal Tweed ranges are wound off from the cone so we can supply the weight you require. See the Donegal Tweed pages for more information.

Orders & Shipping

Where do you ship to?

We ship across the World. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location. See our Shipping section on each product page or at the foot of the Home Page.

How long will my order take to arrive?

UK and Ireland orders typically arrive within 3–5 working days. European and the rest of the world orders may take 5-14 working days depending on your location. 

Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free UK Shipping on orders over £75. We occasionally run free shipping promotions - sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about offers.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your returns policy?

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please get in touch within 48 hours of receiving your order with a photo of the damage and we'll do what we can to make it right.

Classes and Workshops

Do you run knitting and crochet classes and workshops?

We run many classes throughout the year only taking a break for Easter, summer and Christmas time. We have day time, evening and weekend classes for both knitting and crochet. Classes are mixed ability so you can join one of our Beginners classes without fear. 

How do I book a set of classes?

All of our classes are on our website - please go to the Classes and Workshops section and you will see the full range of classes available including all of the details - times, what to bring etc. If there are no classes on the website then we are on a short break for holidays. But always keep an eye out as we add dates regularly.

Do you hold regular Knit and Natter Sessions?

Yes! We host a regular Knit & Natter every Friday. Check our Knit & Natter page for more information.

Are your classes and workshops suitable for beginners?

Absolutely - we welcome knitters of all skill levels. Our classes and workshops are friendly, relaxed, and a great way to meet fellow craft lovers. There may be some classes or workshops aimed at more experienced crafters but these will be advertised as such.
