The Timepiece Cardigan - DK Kit

The Timepiece Cardigan by Ailbíona McLochlainn

This versatile cardigan pattern from Ailbíona blends 20th Century references from the tennis cardigans of the 1920s to Kurt Cobain's MTV Unplugged sweater, creating a contemporary silhouette. 

As with so many of Ailbíona's designs, this pattern is written with many ways in which to adapt and change for tailoring to your own style. There are instructions for both Aran and DK yarns, cropped or full length, there are also pockets and contrast stripes which are simple yet effective details.

Kit includes the required amount of Faerie Folk -  Donegal Merino Mohair Tweed, depending on style and size chosen, plus a digital pdf copy of the pattern. 

Pattern Requirements

Yarn: The DK pattern was designed with our Faerie Folk Donegal Tweed (220m/100g) 

Cropped with pockets: 4.5 (5, 5.5, 6, 6, 6.5, 7, 7) 100g/3.5 oz balls

Full Length with pockets: 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7) 100g/3.5 oz balls

Note: If opting for contrasting stripes along edges, scrap yarn amounts of additional colours will be required.

Gauge

21sts x 28 rows = 10cm x 10cm in stockinette for main fabric

24sts x 32 rows = 10cm x 10cm in 2 x 2 rib for edgings

Needles

A: circular needle, 3.5mm (US 4) in diameter, or as needed to meet gauge for main fabric

B: circular needle, 2.75mm (US 2) in diameter, or as needed to meet gauge for edgings
