Wave Run Beret Kit

Wave Run Beret Kit, pattern designed by Ailbíona McLochlainn.

A short and sweet installment in the Irish Waves collection, the Wave Run beret can be knitted from the tip down or from the brim up, with instructions for 3 sizes. The striking waves motif is made with simple increases and decreases, making this a surprisingly beginner-friendly pattern. Both the cowl and beret were designed in our very own Faerie Folk, with the recurring waves motif which is simple yet effective.

Folklore Yarns Faerie Folk Donegal Mohair Tweed:

70% Merino, 30% Kid Mohair, 220m/ 100g 

Pattern notes:

Needles:

Needle A: circular needle suitable for Magic Loop method, 3.25mm in diameter or as needed to meet gauge for main fabric

Needle B: circular needle suitable for Magic Loop method, 2.5mm in diameter or as needed to meet gauge for brim (alternatively: .75mm smaller in diameter than Needle A) 

Gauge:

Main fabric: 24 sts x 32 rounds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x4”), in stockinette

Brim: 26 sts x 34 rounds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x4”), in 1x1 rib

Notions:

Stitch markers, measuring tape, tapestry needle, round dinner plate
